Ordinary Life by CHS

I become a writer as a result of series of unexpected events. It is funny and interesting how I got here because the trigger is actually a smartphone. How come? Here is the story. So I have been learning Chinese language for quite a while now. Writing "hanzi" characters is a part of the process. As I do not like the idea of carrying pen and paper for studying, I was thinking to get something that I can use for this purpose, which will always be with me. That is a phone. Coincidentally my older phone was getting problematic, like the camera cannot be used, for one. Considering my need for writing Chinese characters, I decided to buy a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite. This smartphone comes with a stylus, good specifications and reasonable price. I was very happy with the purchase. Loved the stylus so much that I tried to find ways to make use more of it.  So today I stumbled upon an interesting video about finding passion, by Rob Dial aka The Mindset Mentor. Here is the video: Basically to find our passion we can ask ourselves these questions: What do I like to do? What am I good at? What makes me curious? If money does not exist, what would I do? The most interesting part for me is when he said that we don't have to monetize our passion. This is about finding it, not making money. In other words, it is okay if our passion does not generate income. And there are a lot of ways to monetize if we want. Well, I really love writing at the moment. I can spend hours doing it, but have not made money from writing. Wouldn't it be very nice if what we love can also become an income source? I hope we all can find our passion, even make money from it!

This morning I got this crazy idea that life is actually very similar to a first person game! I imagine that what I am seeing is the perspective of a game character. This made me feel strange but excited at the same time. As I think about this, I actually found out that this is actually a good perspective to have in life. The benefits of having this "game perspective" in life 1. Promoting growth mindset If you don't know already, usually in a game there are character's statistics, such as strength, intelligence, dexterity, agility, etc. This is actually quite accurate to the real life, that we can develop these traits. Exercising, for example, is similar to killing monsters to improve character's level. 2. Make chores fun I will just think works that I have to do, going to places, as in game quests.
